| Largiemore Holiday Estate, Otter Ferry |
Largiemore
is a small family run development of 44, privately owned
red cedar holiday chalets on the Eastern shore of Loch
Fyne. We are not a typical chalet site, offering accommodation
in only 4 of the chalets on behalf of the owners and
in our own luxury farmhouse annexe.
|
 |
| Low
occupancy rates in the remaining chalets ensures a
peaceful and relaxing environment in which to enjoy
Loch Fyne's scenery. The site's south westerly aspect
provides superb views over Knapdale and magnificent
sunsets.
The Farmhouse Annexe was converted from an old barn
in 1996. Finished mainly in wood, the accommodation
incorporates modern standards of comfort in a traditional
farmhouse atmosphere. The downstairs open plan layout
enjoys a view from patio doors down to the lochside
and features a wood burning stove to complement the
electric storage heating in the winter months. The
modern kitchen is well equipped and includes electric
cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washer dryer and
microwave. Upstairs is a large double bedroom and
2 twin bedrooms. All bedding is supplied.
The Chalets are furnished and laid out according
to the owners' tastes, all within 200 yards of the
shore and have a sea view through large front windows.
The standard layout of 1 double and 1 twin bedroom
is extended, using bunks beds, in one chalet to provide
accommodation for a family of 5. |

| Old Kilmun House, Kilmun |
| Old Kilmun House is a luxurious 17th Century country house
for up to 14 adults and 4 children, picturesquely sited in two and a half acres of private gardens at
the side of the Holy Loch in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park in Argyll.
|
 |
|
The house is well situated for sight-seeing all around the West Coast. The immediate area is
renowned for some of the best walking in Scotland, and it's a great base for fishing,
riding, shooting, sailing, cycling, climbing or golf.
With a large sitting room, wood-panelled dining room, comfortable kitchen-breakfast room, snug with big TV and DVD, games and snooker room, two baths, three showers and three toilets, plus five double bedrooms, two triple rooms, and a bunk room for children, the accommodation is flexible enough for most parties.
Originally built by the family of the Duke of Argyll in 1693 - the Campbells have a family mausoleum next door at Old Kilmun Church - the house was owned in Victorian times by the Younger family who founded the amazing Benmore Botanic Gardens a couple of miles away, which still contain the tallest trees in the UK. They also planted a huge variety in ours, which is a lovely garden with stunning views at any time of the year. |
