Morag's Fairy Glen

Morag's Fairy Glen

On the right going south from Dunoon towards Innellan, lies this delightful spot, with paths meandering upwards along the Berry Burn. The Glen was gifted to the town of Dunoon in 1929. The paths are shaded by many a woodbine covered glade, and in some parts the trees - many of them overgrown with ivy - tower high overhead.

A recent count listed 1,641 trees in the Glen, and there are some fine examples of beech, birch, oak and ash. The Berry Burn flows through the mile-and-a-half long Glen descending its length in waterfalls and eddying pools. Fine views of the Clyde can be obtained from the upper walk, and an old watch tower still stands in ruins at the top of the Glen.

A lovely find for anyone visiting Dunoon!
