By Rail
The ferry terminal at Gourock (Caledonian MacBrayne) is well served by a rail link from Glasgow Central Station.

By Bus
McGill's Buses have recently launched a Cowal Connector service from Glasgow to Dunoon. The service which departs from Glasgow Buchanan Street Bus Station boards the ferry at McInroy’s Point and carries passengers to Dunoon town centre. Passengers can remain seated all the way to their chosen destination, without the fuss of transferring between bus, boat or ferry.

The Cowal Connector service will appeal to a wide range of travellers. Daytrippers to Dunoon can board the new 907 Cowal Connector service at Glasgow’s Buchanan Street (and a number of other city centre pick-ups), select a seat and then sit back and enjoy the journey – all the way to Dunoon. Cowal residents will be able to enjoy their first direct link to the shopping and leisure facilities at Braehead. And the three early morning commuter journeys will give those working in Glasgow city centre a seamless alternative to their existing travel arrangements, which may involve transferring between the car, ferry, bus or train.
